He offers his occupation as a Business Development Manager
Throughout his East Leeds career James has been more commonly called Jimmy.
His career at the Club started at the age of 11, playing in the under 13’s, when East Leeds had a wealth of Junior talent. He progressed through the under 15’s, 17’s and 18’s, helping the club win many trophies, and then in the third, second (1994) and first (1998) senior teams.
A right handed bat, he likes to go in at 3 or 4, or in T20 as an opener. A score of 133 in the 1st team is his highest score.
As for bowling he “thinks” he once took 7 or 8 wickets in a junior match, with his right arm spin, which, he claims, is occasionally “rapid” !!
He obviously doesn’t like to expend too much energy as his favourite fielding position is 12th man.
As for favourite players there is quite a list, Allan Olbison, Neil Roberts, Dean Atkinson, John Steel, Zahid Tarvaz, Daniel Thewlis, John Dyson, Geoff Raw, Mark Olbison, Aaron Pearce, Adam Farnell and Adam Lines. An ELCC dream Team.
Best moments at East Leeds include returning to the Club as Joe Lumb Champions, first ever 100, winning numerous Junior titles and 1st XI semi-final victory at the Club.
He has played for the Leeds League XI at under 13, 15 and 17 levels, and had spells in Australia at St Pats and New Zealand at Ashburton. Nearer home , Npower and Romany are other teams which have benefitted from his experience.
