TOM CHAPMAN

DOB 23-07-1991

Tom is an Account Manager at Global Radio (Capital Heart)

Although only known as Tom at East Leeds, he admits to having  had nicknames in the past, such as Chappy and Chappers.

He joined East Leeds at the start of the 2016 season and quickly established himself as a first team regular with genuine all round ability, being a solid right hand batsman, preferring to bat at 5 or 6, and a right arm medium pace bowler.

He has only played in the 1st  XI in which he boasts a top score of 58 and 5 for 29 as his best bowling.

His favourite player who he considers “ a true great” is Allan Olbison although the name sometimes grates as Allan’s young son Max beat him at darts!!

Before he came to East Leeds he had played for Darlington Cricket Club in the NYSD League, making his senior debut at 15 years of age.

One of his favourite memories is, during a spell in Australia, at the Hallam Kalora Park in a 40 degree heat, bowling 26 overs with figures of 6 wickets for a miserly 32 runs. This in a total of some 180 runs for 7 wickets.

For the 2017 season Tom has been appointed 1st  team Captain.
